The Story Behind

The Cutting Gallery

The Cutting Gallery’s journey began not with flashy equipment or a glamorous storefront, but with a pair of hands, a whole lot of heart, and the desire to make people feel beautiful. Ann Mary Hendricks , the visionary behind the salon, had worked in the hair industry for someone else until that business closed. Rather than walking away, she leaned in—determined to continue serving her community with care and creativity.

Starting with house visits, Ann Mary Hendricks carried her talent door-to-door, bringing hair services to women in their own homes. Her mobile hustle didn’t go unnoticed. When a local mine advertised business spaces to uplift local entrepreneurs, Ann took a leap. She applied, succeeded, and officially opened her salon in a retail center with the support of the mining company. The Cutting Gallery was born—not just as a salon, but as a statement: resilience is beautiful.

Our Mission

& Vision

At The Cutting Gallery, beauty is more than skin deep. It’s about helping people step into the world feeling confident and cared for.

Mission: To offer high-quality, professional hair care services that bring convenience and confidence to working individuals, while creating employment and uplifting the community.

Vision: To grow into a household name in beauty services, expanding across neighboring cities and continually evolving to meet client needs through personalized, trend-driven services.

Understanding

Our core customers are women and men working long shifts in the mining sector and nearby businesses. They need efficient, quality services that don’t require extensive travel or planning. We understand that looking good isn’t just about vanity—it boosts confidence, morale, and self-worth.

The Problem We Solve: We make hair care convenient, accessible, and high-quality, especially for clients with tight schedules and limited beauty service options in the area.

What sets

Us Apart

The Cutting Gallery isn’t just another salon—it’s a local solution built by someone who understands the unique challenges of the community. Here’s what makes us different:

We operate within a mining-supported retail center, which many clients pass daily.

We offer flexible scheduling and pre-paid packages that align with payday cycles.

Our services are rooted in genuine care—each customer is more than a head of hair; they’re family.

Achievements &

Milestones

While we’re still growing, The Cutting Gallery has already achieved something remarkable: trust. Every new client who walks in and returns, every referral made, and every smile of satisfaction is a milestone for us.

Tisa herself says her greatest achievement is the personal growth and confidence she has gained as a businesswoman. That inner transformation fuels the salon’s outward success.

Leadership

Currently led and operated by Tisa, The Cutting Gallery is small but mighty. With plans to expand, Tisa envisions training and employing local youth, building a team that embodies her values of service, professionalism, and community care.

Giving Back To

The Community

As the business grows, so does its sense of responsibility. Looking ahead, future plans focus on job creation and mentorship for young stylists and salon assistants, along with skill development workshops designed for aspiring entrepreneurs. There is also a strong commitment to fostering community-driven projects that promote self-care and mental wellness through the art of beauty.

At The Cutting Gallery, we believe in making people look good—but more importantly, we want them to feel good, inside and out.
